Bluff Cup
2007 Bluff Cup winners Paris Milton: Fung, Ungie, Kirsty and team leader Jesse. Absent: Honor.
The Bluff Cup is OUDS's annual intra-society competition. Teams of 5 to 6 debate weekly in a round robin format tournament. Teams are named after small South Island localities, with puns encouraged (past teams include Alexandra the Greats and Paris Milton).
Teams score two points for a win and a bonus point for a full turnout. The top four teams enter semifinals and the competition culminates in the auspicious final and prizegiving in September.
It takes place at the Commerce building (room 2.20) at 7.00pm on Tuesdays. As is customary, debating is followed by a trip to the esteemed Captain Cook Tavern, where members can enjoy the benefits of cheap drinks and free food.
